The Value of Novelty | Peregrine Church | TEDxUofW

Peregrine Church shows how novelty can boost morale, foster community, and even extend life — one unique moment at a time.

Peregrine Church is just some guy in Seattle who likes thinking of things to make the world a more interesting place. In 2013 he invented Rainworks: positive street art that appears every time it rains with the goal of making rainy days something to look forward to. In 2015, Rainworks went viral, spreading like wildfire around the internet and catapulting the idea into such glamorous internet fame that when you bring it up in conversation, someone might say, “Oh, I think I saw that on Facebook once.” Peregrine demands not to be taken too seriously.
